About Us

 

City of the Hills Chorus is a group of women of all ages and all walks of life who meet once a week because we LOVE to sing. We chartered with Sweet Adelines International in 1985.  We sing four-part harmony in the barbershop style and offer entertainment in the Oneonta/Cooperstown area singing modern show tunes, ragtime toe-tappers, pop tunes, and old favorites.
 

The chorus and quartets have performed for business and social organizations, nursing homes, Oneonta's First Night and other community events. We have had our own show every other year, often featuring guest quartets or other choruses. A favorite annual activity is surprising lucky recipients with singing Valentines at such places as restaurants, offices, homes, hospitals, and businesses—any where and everywhere—once even at the half-time of a basketball game!

 

We work to improve our craft through regular rehearsals, special coaching sessions, participation in music conference weekends and in regional competition.
